MADEIN • RENO, NEVADA

The place between work & home

01 BRAND IDENTITY

02 VISUAL IDENTITY

Madein is a neighborhood staple from morning to evening - grab a delicious latte, enjoy tasty fusion flavors, and top it off with a cocktail. With unique but complimentary establishments all under one roof, everyone can tame their cravings and enjoy the atmosphere. There’s always a set at the table here at Madein.

Madein came to us in need of a brand and visual identity that:

  • Speaks to a specific neighborhood (89509, 89519).

  • Embraces local spirit - locally-owned, locally-operated, locally-supported

  • Embodies, yet softens current masculinity of vendors

  • Is set apart uniquely from other local ‘hangouts’

THE ASK

Earthy, masculine, clean, refined.

The ask from the team at Madein was to make their visual identity something that embodied the masculine energy of the three businesses coming together - with a modern, clean, refined, and easy-going twist. It was important that Madein came across as approachable and optimistic, somewhere that felt like a true neighborhood hangout between work and home.

To accomplish this, we incorporated a bold black and white color scheme knowing the interior of the building was going to be designed with white, black, and gold. Our typography selection was meant to be crisp without risking the loss of personality. We brought in a mix of hyper-minimalistic design elements to pull the aesthetic all together.

  • Forged Coffee Roasters

“Hand Forged in the American West”

Forged Coffee Roasting Company is the culmination of a life long obsession and celebration of coffee. During forging, great heat is applied to iron and through the hammering process, this raw material becomes a stronger, sharper version of itself. Similarly, in the process of coffee roasting, heat is applied to raw material to transform it, creating something stronger, sharper, more than what it was. At Forged, every small batch is roasted by hand with the goal of bringing each individual coffee to it’s best expression.
